SACRED HILL LAUNCHES CHARDONNAY COLLECTION

Those of you who have tried the delicious Master Match combination of Sacred Hill Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2013 and Fishcakes with Mayonnaise may well be tempted by the newly launched Sacred Hill Chardonnay Collection.

The 2013 Sacred Hill Riflemans Chardonnay and 2013 Sacred Hill Virgin Chardonnay have both been released as part of Sacred Hill’s super premium Special Selection range, with a third wine likely to be added to the Chardonnay Collection from the 2014 vintage.

Sacred Hill Managing Director David Mason says Special Selection wines are hand made in only the finest years when nature provides conditions that produce truly exceptional wines.

 “At Sacred Hill we are Chardonnay lovers as well as keepers of one of New Zealand’s finest and most historic Chardonnay vineyards. The Chardonnay Collection is our way of sharing our passion for this grape variety and the unique Rifleman’s Vineyard with wine lovers.”

The 2013 Riflemans and Virgin Chardonnays are two very different expressions of the grape variety and the vineyard.

Riflemans Chardonnay is Sacred Hill’s flagship white wine, considered by Australian wine writer Andrew Caillard MW to be New Zealand’s finest Chardonnay and “near perfection in complexity, balance and freshness,” when he scored it 98+/100.

Virgin Chardonnay was first launched in 2011 to celebrate Sacred Hill’s 25^th vintage. It is unoaked with a delicate, pristine style.

The result is two top flight Chardonnays showcasing one of Hawke’s Bay finest vineyard sites and one of its best ever vintages.
